Error Code 300 is an “incorrect orientation warning” which means the instrument has not been in a horizontal position for some part of the test analysis period.
This is not a fatal error, and the test can be completed satisfactorily, and the results provided will be valid.
The Druglizer Cartridge is a ‘Lateral Flow’ type of device, very similar in nature to COVID rapid tests we have become familiar with and needs sufficient volumes of saliva to go from one end of the strip to the other and to assist in the flow of saliva the instrument needs to be as close to horizontal as possible during the sample collection and analysis phase. If the instrument is removed to far from horizontal during a test, this error code will be generated as a warning to return the instrument to the horizontal position.
The most common cause of this error is someone picking the instrument up to have a look at it.
Good practice is to ensure the instrument is as horizontal as possible to assist in the flow of saliva from one end of the strip to the other.
This error is a warning only, designed to have the operator return the instrument to horizontal before the test has to be aborted. If the instrument is returned to horizontal in time the analysis can be completed.
